This is an experimental exercise in typography.

When making collage, the shapes of the leftover pieces of paper are 'accidentally' created.
The aim is to focus on what is being cut out, and not what isn't.
But these leftover scraps can be re-used in more collage, and i find that i like working with the accidental and unplanned, making these unpredictable elements into a new image.

In this case these leftover pieces of paper have been arranged to represent the 26 letters of the English alphabet.

Rules:

Only single pieces of scrap paper are to be used for each letter: there must be no joining of elements to form a letter.

The paper that most resembles the character should be used.

If there are some characters that do not have a paper likeness, minimal modification is to be allowed. This should only be carried out if there is absolutely NO discernable similarity between a scrap of paper and a character.

After a 26-letter alphabet is found, the typeface is photographed/rendered and the letters removed from the waste collection.
